Is it possible to change colleges?

I just got accepted to Roosevelt College (which I put down as my first choice), but when I applied I didn’t really know much about the colleges so I just put them down in any order (I know that was pretty stupid of me, and I don’t mean to sound pompous, but I just decided to apply to UCSD at the last minute as a safety school). Anyway, I found out that Revelle has a stronger science program, so is it possible to switch colleges?

no (10char)

is it even possible for one college to be better at something? its all one university after all

The only difference between the colleges are GEs, dorms, dining halls, and social events. You can go to any college’s social events and dining halls. Basically, you have no reason to transfer.

On the other hand, ERC has six quarters of writing classes versus Revelle’s five.

i heard erc has way better housing than revelle. and i also heard revelle doesnt have a way better science program, they just have more science GE requirements.

there’s only TWO quarters where erc students actually WRITE essays (3 essays per quarter) @@. the other 4 quarters you learn cool anthropology/history stuff. the first thing you learn in mmw1 is the whole evolution deal and memorize for example whether “homo erectus” came before or after “homo africanus”, etc. then you move on to learning about eskimos, native americans, and you touch on ancient greece societies. mmw2 is all about myths (but not the myths you generally hear) from ancient greece, china, and india (while learning how hindiusm and buddhism). in the later mmw’s you get to choose what you want to study (which area of the world - europe, asia, etc). this is why they say that erc students are the most “well-rounded” by the time they graduate.

lost_decoy, I think you mean Australopithecus africanus

hahah yessss! eww i forgot about that long word…took me the longest time to pronounce it XD just call it a. africanus lol

oh and i forgot to add: make sure you research your teachers! teachers seriously make the difference whether or not the whole learning process is interesting especially for mmw stuff…i just had cohen, and he is AWESOME!!! also remember that it’s obviously not the professors who determine your grade, it’s your TA (grades your midterms/finals and essays), so make sure you get a good one, or at least try to suck up lol

so erc is good 4 ppl who are good w/ social sciences but not as much w/ hard math/science?
