Is it possible to fail a co-requisite?

My college’s Biology programs requires you to take a lecture and a lab (the lab is considered a co-requisite) but apparently it adds up to one class…I’m passing the lecture portion but failing the lab portion. The professor said that the lab is worth 30% of your overall biology grade but I’m not entirely sure what that means?

Is it possible to fail out of co-requisite or will the bad grade just drain on my lecture grade?..or if I fail one class, I automatically fail the other class as well?

Advice?

That means it counts as one grade, where 70% of your grade is from lecture and 30% of your grade is from lab. If you fail the lab portion, it significantly lowers your overall grade for the course.

Why don’t you make an appointment or go to your professor’s office hours and ask how you can improve your performance in lab and try to bring that up? The semester isn’t even half over yet for most.
