<p>Yup, RA is residential advisor. You can’t apply for it until at least the second semester of your freshman year. It is a year long position, where you plan activities and social gatherings, act as a counselor, and deal with disciplinary problems in your residential hall or apartment. You have to take a two unit course (EDCO 030x) in order to apply, then fill out an application. The application then goes through a screening processes, and some applicants are chosen for interviews. From the interview group, some are chosen as RA’s and some are back-ups. About 50% of those who apply get a position (I think).</p>
