…if I already got a BS from ucla? I was thinking of going back to school and getting a second bachelor degree from a different UC (UCI, or UCR, or UCSD…), but will they accept me?

I know for fact that UCLA will not accept me, since it is stated on their website, but what about the other UC schools?

Well, I got my bs in chemistry. I was thinking of changing my future from healthcare to business management. I’m not sure if healthcare is right for me, so I was thinking of working in the healthcare field for a few months as a medical assistant and phlebotomist to test the water. I’d like to be ready to change my career path, if it turns out that I don’t like working in a hospital.

I think a masters in Health Administration is the way to go…recently listed as one of the best graduate degrees for jobs iirc. You will probably be working in an office as opposed to doing hands on stuff in the hospital. It’s like management, only you’re working in healthcare. It’s really hard to get corporate jobs these days and healthcare is expanding…if you want to go into Nursing or something, UCI allows second Bachelor applicants for their Nursing program.

getting a degree basically allows you a chance to establish yourself in a new field.
You had 4 years, why weren’t you interning and gaining experience in your field? You went to UCLA, that place is filled with intelligent and knowledgeable people who on average take on 50 internships and study crazy hours(well some of them, avoid frat row).

I’d suggest working and gaining experience. If you don’t like your field, do things on the side(e.g. volunteering on the weekends to gain experience relevant to your field, self-studying for certifications in the new field, NETWORKING). Foregoing 2 year’s worth of income and taking on 30k worth of tuition expenses is crazy, when there are more time effective(and cheaper) ways of doing that. You have the UCLA name behind you, that helps a lot.

Also, don’t try to go into an MBA program unless you have 5+ years worth of work experience.
