Ok so im a little confused. On every college website with statistics, they have the “Middle 50%” for SAT ranges. Which means that 25% scored higher, and 25% scored lower. So really there is a shot of me getting in. I got a 520 on CR and Math. But my GPA is good (3.6 UW). So my question is, because of the lower 25%, is there a better chance of getting into the following schools then I think?
-Syracuse
-American
-UConn
-Loyola MD
-Fairfield
Drexel?

*** Im a Political Science/Sports Management major (depending on the school), good Rec, essays, EC, and Community Service. Please answer im stressing out here!!

In looking at the 50th percentile for any school it’s essential to understand that candidates with a hook are likely to be the ones with below median stats. Hooks include recruited athletes (about 17% of any class), legacies (10-20% typically), URMs (15-20% at most) and development candidates (2-5%).

It might be possible for you to get in, but we really can’t give you a more definitive answer than “maybe”, possibly followed up by “admits with low SAT scores tend to have something else about them that is really good”.

Instead of stressing out waiting for people on the Internet to give you a definitive answer that’s not coming, why not ease your anxiety by searching for a safety school that you like (or if you already have one, working on the application)? When I am stressed about my future being up in the air, pretty much the only stress relief that works is working on a solid backup plan for if the worst-case scenario happens.

There’s not much we can tell you expect to just stop worrying. It’s become impossible to predict acceptances, but take solace in the fact that you do have a chance.
I’m assuming you’re a senior since you mentioned that you had good essays and recs; try to relax until April
Good luck!
