Is it possible to get to Long Beach airport from Claremont before 7:00 AM?

<p>Mind you, using public transportation, lol. Would I have to take the Metrolink or something to downtown LA first? Would the public transportation services work at that time? Also, this is for December, so I guess I’d have to take into account potential congestion, right?</p>

<p>Have you thought of taking the public transportation to the airport the night before, crash there and then board the plane in the am? </p>

<p>I don’t know what buses would get you there. Could you take Amtrak to Union Station in LA and then the Blue line to Long Beach? Most of those trains don’t run that early in the am.</p>

<p>It is possible to take public transit from Claremont to LB airport, but transit time will be around 4 hours. Arriving by 7:00 a.m. will be tough.</p>

<p>I was just getting ready to put that information out.</p>

<p>It may be cheaper and much faster to take a super shuttle type service. I have used them in the past with great luck, as has my niece who goes to school on the east coast.</p>

<p>Do you already have your plane ticket? If not look into Ontario airport. The added cost of a shuttle might make up for any additional fare. Also maybe John Wayne in Orange County.</p>

<p>If your flight is scheduled on a weekday, you <em>might</em> be able to make it to Long Beach by 7am. Take the 4:51am Metrolink to Union Station, arriving at 5:41am. Hop on the Metro Red Line (comes every ~5 minutes) to 7th St./Metro Center. Catch the Metro Blue Line, probably the 6:17am (maybe 6:06am if you’re lucky). You can take this line all the way to the end. This would have you getting in between 7:00am and 7:10am. I don’t know if you can catch a cab or the like at the Long Beach Transit Center, but the whole trip would only cost you about $10, one-way. The alternative is getting off at an earlier stop that is closer to the airport (ie. Wardlow or Willow) and trying to catch a cab there, it just may be more difficult to get one.</p>

<p>Unfortunately, if your flight is on a weekend you may be out of luck, as the commuter trains just don’t run that early.</p>
