My kid got 1970 on SAT, never took prep course. Her goal is 2250-2300. She is straight A student in AP/ honors classes

Does she need to go to tutor or prep school to improve results, what it takes to get 2250, how many hours a week does she need to study
Went from a 2190 to a 2340, mainly by doing practice tests from princeton review 11PT book. My recommendation is that in addition to any books she uses for content, she should do at least 1 timed practice section a day. It will only take about 25 mins and is great practice. Also, one strategy I found useful was too reduce my time every two weeks by one minute per section. Eventually I was able to finish each section about 5-6 mins early, which gave me plenty of time to check my answers. Good luck!
^^ 2190 -> 2340 is easier of a jump than 1970 -> 2250 (when your weakness is CR). If you are already getting 700ish on CR, you understand what CR is about. After that, it’s simply a matter of increasing focus and practicing.
For CR: Essential 500 , Direct Hits and learn how to read effectively and answer the systematic MC questions.(Not as hard to improve on as much as getting lucky passages)
WR: Erika Meltzer, read it and understand everything in there you will reach 700 at LEAST
practice tests help you practice what u learned witht he above. gl
