Is it possible to increase SAT from 1860-2300+ in a year?

Hi, I’m a upcoming college freshman and I want to transfer to top schools. I’m probably gonna take the SAT in about a year. Here are my current scores:

CR: 710
Writing: 580 (7 on essay
Math: 570

I plan on studying at least 10-15 hours a week. Do you think it’s doable?

It’s totally impossible, because the revamped SAT has a max score that only goes up to 1600.

You haven’t even started at your college and are already looking to transfer? It’s harder to get into the Ivy league as a transfer than a freshman, so better to move on.

SATs are for high school students, you are done with testing. Transfer apps are based on college performance. Love the school that loves you.

I only know of a couple of schools that will consider a college student retest for the SAT. Thrive where you are planted.

I advise against retaking. Three reasons here:

  1. SAT is for high school students. You're in college. Demonstrate your uniqueness by emphasizing things only college students can do.
  2. Considering that you've probably taken the SAT multiple times in high school, and have prepared for it a fair amount before, you're not going to improve that drastically, even with tons and tons and tons of practice. This is especially true because you've probably already learned all of the math (pre-calc and below) necessary for the SAT.
  3. Say that was the first time you took it, and you had a headache or something. Still, 10 to 15 hours a week is a heavy load, especially since you're in college and will be taking classes, maybe working a part-time job, etc. Not sure if you'll be able to handle all of it and still be focused enough to actually concentrate and improve your scores with practice.
  1. Redesigned SAT, only goes to 1600

  2. SAT is only for high school students and is used as college admission placement

  3. Unless you want to go to a very good school, your score is fine. I only got a 1390 (440 CR, 490 M, 460 W) and got into the college I wanted to (Delaware State University).
