<p>I find it unlikely that a student will lose financial aid. A student’s demonstrated need is not contingent on his or hers academic performance. So I would not worry about losing ‘Duke Scholarship’, because of a less than stellar performance. </p>
<p>As for academic scholarships, it is very possible to lose those if a student does not continue his or hers academic performance.</p>
<p>As for whether Duke gradually replaces ‘Duke Scholarship’ with loans, I am not positive, but I have been told that it is replaced little by little–not in great amounts.</p>
