Is it possible to obtain good score even though I didn't finish my SAT essay?

My story:
On the March 12 SAT I test, I was not able to finish the essay section; I had 30 seconds left when I was writing my body paragraph. Just 20 seconds before time-up, I gave up continuing my body paragraph, skipped a line, and wrote my stupid concluding sentence: “Therefore, I believe that creativity is needed.”
Now, my question:
Is is possible to obtain a score of 12 even though I didn’t finish writing the essay? (Given that what I wrote was really good, except my conclusion) If not 12, how about 10? (Oh boy, I need to get at least 8…)
Someone who experienced something like this and got a good score, please tell me! Thank You

Somebody asked this already. That one didn’t finish the concluding sentence. But it’s OK, they grade it holistically and you should get a 5.

u probably wont get a “perfect” score. but if u wrote well it’ll be close, i heard.

Don’t they grade on a scale of 1-6? You wouldn’t get a 12 anyway…

If you wrote well, you’ll probably end up with a 5 which is fantastic AND granted you did very very well on the multi-choice, it is >still< possible to get an 800 with a 5 on the essay. So you should do fine.
Don’t stress over it.
They’re just looking to see how well you write.

How well is very very well, ladyinred?

Generally, 2 wrong, maybe an omit… I’m basing this off the grading curves I’ve seen in practice books. I have no idea if it’s at all accurate.
that would be to get a perfect score - which usually isn’t the target score, right?

Man… I would so love to have scored an 800 on the writing section… that gives me a larger margin for error… especially after I missed some relatively easy math questions due to overlooking the question. I’ll just keep that in mind next time. :)

i could be very wrong…but I do know that you don’t have to do perfectly on either the multi-choice or the essay to score an 800…

what if you thought you had 10 more minutes therefore:

  1. didn’t have concluding paragraph
  2. didn’t finish 3rd body paragraph
  3. didn’t have finished thesis sentence
what would the best essay grade would I get then?

Maybe a 4?
