is it possible to ONLY take SAT subject test + ACT

Hi,

Is it possible to only take SAT chemistry subject test? + ACT?

thanks

Schools typically require the SAT or ACT. Some will require SAT Subject Tests, and others won’t.

So it is possible to take the ACT and SAT Subject Tests.

Yes, that is certainly possible, but highly uncommon. You would have to register for and take just a single SAT subject test (note: very few people actually do this), register for and take the ACT, and avoid taking the SAT.

To the extent that it’s unusual, I think the reason is that very few colleges or universities ask for ACT plus SAT subject tests.

Most colleges and universities ask for the SAT reasoning test or the ACT. Some selective colleges and universities ask for SAT subject tests. Of the ones that do, many will accept the ACT in lieu of SAT reasoning test and SAT subject tests, but a few will not. For one of that small number of colleges and universities, you might reasonably take ACT and SAT subject tests.

Most colleges that request subject test scores ask for at least two. And the tests themselves are shorter than the reasoning test. The reasoning test takes all morning; if you take subject tests, you can take as many as three in a morning. So that’s another reason why it might be unusual to take only one subject test on a Saturday.

But you could do it, sure.
