Is it possible to self-study APs by watching Khan Academy videos?

I know some people say that exercises are important, but frankly, it is possible to learn how to do a lot of problems by reading the AP prep books without doing the exercises (that’s what I did before).

Obviously it’s not the best way to learn, but cramming for APs isn’t the best way to learn either.

I think it would help. I’ve never done it, but I think it’s doable.

I wouldn’t recommend it for most people. The videos are quite basic and skip a lot of information that will be covered on the AP exam. Some classes are problem solving oriented - the best way to get ready for those is doing a bunch of practice problems.

Doing exercises cements the ideas into your brain and makes it so that you know how to do it in real life.

You could study the theory of something all day, but it’s the actual “doing” that’s important.

Plus, doing the exercises helps in letting you make less stupid mistakes and careless errors on the real test.

So don’t overdo it. Don’t do all the problems in the book, but I’d say do a fair amount so you feel like you’ve studied enough and feel comfortable about the information. Then do some review problems starting two weeks before the actual AP exam.
