now this is a creative question lol

Let’s say i got 800 on the Math section, but bad Verbal, is it possible to just “write down” half the SAT?

Let’s say i got 800 on the Math section, but bad Verbal, is it possible to just “write down” half the SAT?

It was my understanding that you took the SAT about thrice and your highest scores in Verbal and Math were reported even though it may have come from different tests.

Yea, that’s about right. If you take it more than once, you just put your highest scores on the app because it actually says on the application: “Highest Verbal and Math Scores” and they give you two boxes to fill it in manually.

Obviously, if you only take it once, you need to put both scores on there. You can’t just have an 800 in the “Math” box and nothing in the “Verbal” box.

no. if you send any sat/sat2, you send all of them
who knows what they look at

You can put down your highest scores on the app if you so desire, unless it specifically asks for the full sets, which a few schools (Ohio State) do. But most schools want the verification as well from College Board and they see everything you have taken, SAT1s and 2s, unless they are before a certain age. (say 7th grade for CTY purposes)

what if i only put down the Math, but not even put down the verbal score?

chantown - list all your standardized test scores (act, sat, sat2) so we can see what you are trying to do

then they will know that something smells like rotten fish and dig it up out of you

you can’t just leave your “verbal” box on the penn app blank. even if the adcoms can see your official score on the college board report, it still leaves them wondering why u didn’t put it on ur own app and it just looks weird. they’ll see it anyway. stop trying to go around it. but yea, list your scores like megamike said.

i havent taken them yet haha

but i KNOW that my SATs will be BADDDD
750-800 math
550-650 Verbal

My ACTS will be around
32-34

i diagnosed a lot with programs/books and stuff

then quit asking and get on with studying!

i’m not going to submit SAT tho, i’m gonna submit ACT , because I also live in Missouri haha

ok, ur right, i should start studying.

thanks!

how do i study tho??

like, i KNOW all the rules to grammar and stuff, and the writing section is good, but it’s those fill in the blanks! for vocab into sentences…i do really bad on those…how do i study for the SAT??

i only took the act - i got 2x 34s that combine to a 35 - I did not think i would do as well on a sat so i didnt take it (I didnt think i would break 1520 w/o lots of effort b/c of verbal)

35 is crazy good, thats like missing 3 problems overall on the test

how do i make my verbal stronger, any suggetsions?

uh act reading - read more
act writing - buy sat2 writing book and learn that
old sat - practice? read more learn words
not sure about new sat

practice tests always help - my main problem w/ act was writing section so i just studied from sat2 writing book

read the dictionary cover-to-cover. guaranteed 250-point increase max. :)

psh… that’s not very much for reading the dictionary.

i used to read the dictionray…until i found out it was long.

don’t do that. there are so many useless words in there. read the newpaper. something like the philly inquire (if you’re in the area), new york times is a must, and wall street journal if you don’t fall asleep reading it.
