So the deadline for priority application is Nov.30 but I’m still working on the essay. Since I have to give my counselor at least two weeks to process my transcript, I must submit the app this week. Is it possible to submit my essay after submitting my application?
Also, there’s a section on the application that ask if I have any family members who went to Penn State. If my sister is attending Penn State right now, can I include that in the application?

The essay(Personal statement) is within the app so you kinda cant submit the essay after the app. Also, yes you can list your sister as currently attending.

Do I list my sister in the Penn State alumni section?

Yes, your sister is considered alumni after her first year… I called admissions with this question, too.

I’m pretty sure the essay was optional, so your application would be considered complete without it. Although, I don’t know if you can update it with the essay at a later time. I know you can update with test scores, but I’m not sure if you do that by updating the application or contacting admissions. I don’t know if it would be the same process to update the application with an essay. You should contact admissions be phone or email to check with them to be sure.

Yes, you can submit your essay after your application. Send the essay to admissions@psu.edu and at the top of the page list your full name and date of birth. That is how they will match it to your application. I wouldn’t let too much time pass though as you never know how quick a decision will be made on your application. You can also submit your Student Activities the same way-
