By the time I graduate high school, I will have taken nearly 60 dual enrollment credits. Due to personal and family difficulties, I have not been able to get good grades in them but have been required to take them by my school.
If I choose to transfer as a freshman, will I be allowed to even if I have those dual enrollment credits? I should note that these credits are from a respected T50 school, and I will likely go to that T50 school.
You can always apply to transfer.
One issue of transferring is course transferability. Some may take most or all the credits. Others may take none. That’s school dependent.
So getting in as a transfer is one thing.
Then getting credit for previous work is a different thing.
Why are you looking to transfer before you even stepped foot on campus ?
If you are still in high school, then all of your college credit will be in course work before leaving high school, so colleges will generally want you to apply for frosh admission.
But if you choose to apply as a transfer (either now, or after attending some college after high school graduation), then all of your college course work, including dual enrollment courses, will be considered for transferability to the new college. Unless a large amount of it is seen by the new college as non-transferable by its transfer credit rules, you are unlikely to transfer as frosh (as opposed to sophomore or junior).
