Is it possible?

Hey, I’m a first year (listed as a sophomore right now) in Muir College and I’m in a little problem right now. I’m already signed up for 16 units (Math 20B, Chem 6B, Cog. 17, and BILD 1) and I plan to take on Muir Writing (40) when the quarter begins, making it a total of 20 units. So here’s my problem. I know this schedule will require a lot of work from me and I need to improve my GPA with this quarter. Another problem at hand is that I am on the track and field team, which takes up a good amount of my time everyday, and with meets coming up, I’ll probably be even more busy. I feel like there’s two options for me: 1.) Drop Muir Writing and take it next quarter or 2.) Take Cog. 17 for P/NP so I won’t have to focus that much on that class and I can worry about my other classes. And Cog. 17 is part of my GE requirement. What do you guys think I should do?

I’m in a similar situation right now where I’ll be taking 21 units, (5 classes and 1 lab) which I haven’t done before. I would try it out for a couple weeks and see how hard it is for you. If it’s too much work, drop a class. That’s what I’m going to do.

i took cogs 17 last quarter and it is a decent amount of memorization. i don’t suggest taking it at all with that schedule honestly, you’re going to be very frustrated throughout the quarter.

whats the reason behind taking 20 units? If you arent trying to graduate early or anything just take 4 classes, your track and field commitment is going to drain a **** load of your time.
