Is it realistic?

Is it realistic to expect my teachers to send their rec forms to Choate by Jan 10? I’ll be giving the forms to them on Monday, the 7th.

Well, if you gave the teachers other AESD etc. school recommendations, the teachers should be able to just get a copy of one of those recommendations and send them in with Choate. I don’t think Choate’s recommendations are different than the AESD(etc.) ones.

I gave recommendations to my science teacher (another academic recommendation) and he sent it in the next morning O_O

Umm
I am not too sure if it is realistic.
They probably would not approve of you doing that, and if they are not pleased with you when writing the recs, they might not write a great one.
And if you dont give them alot of time, they might not give alot of consideration to your situation :T

I gave my school reports in at the beginning of December,
and emailed my principal because i needed them to send in my choate ones(im in korea right now;it takes a longer time to send) and she told me that she didnt start them O_O
so i had to go to school and get them on friday…i dont think she thought too hard on it though.

anyhoo,
I also know that although the english math and extra teacher recs are common, but the school reports im not too sure.

It’s a bit of a stretch, but sure, go for it.
I’m sure they will accept even if it is a few days late…

It depends on the teacher…when I was applying, I gave my teachers the rec forms like 4 months before the due date. My math teacher sent his out two days later, my english teacher…well, four months later he still didn’t have it done.

We have the opposite worry–sending in the recs too soon! My daughter just gave her teachers the recommendations on Thursday and told them they didn’t need to send them in until 1/16 (after we are done interviewing at all the schools.) She came home on Friday and said her teachers were so proud of themselves, because they all did them Thursday night and sent them in on Friday morning.

It’s fine, but until we visit all the schools, we aren’t sure we are applying to all of them. Also, we wanted the school to get a chance to meet with her first, before being at all influenced by a teacher’s recommendation.

Oh well, in the big scheme of things, it is fine. And, I just had a thought, I’m thinking they must be fairly positive recommendations because of the swiftness of sending them back out. It’s only my opinion, but I think if a teacher wrote a lukewarm or even negative recommendation, they would think about it, sleep on it, and then…after a few days, send it out.

What do you guys think? Am I just being overly optimistic :)?

if you nring them cookies. apologize for the late notice, ad beg for them to send it emmediately, then you have a chance.
