if i wanna apply for financial aid for 07/08, is it necessary to get a job in order to be approved?
becoz my mom’s accountant said that since im 21 now, the fafsa wouldn’t approve my application if i don have a job.

<p>But in general, the experience you gain from work will benefit you after college, not to mention the income you receive.</p>
<p>You might get a financial aid package that includes work study. In that case, you have the option of applying for some work-study-approved jobs, often on campus, and often flexible in terms of scheduling. But it’s still optional. Work study jobs also won’t adversely impact your financial aid package the following year.</p>
<p>Non-work study jobs can adversely impact your aid package, slightly, if you work over about 3K in a given year.</p>
<p>I have never heard such a thing. FAFSA is just a form to send to the government to generate your family EFC. </p>
<p>What I have heard is that as you get further along in college, the college financial aid office may EXPECT you to work, and when they process your app and give you your aid package, that expectation may be built into what they give you. Whether you do or not, is your business, but if you do not, that amount has to be made up through other means.</p>
<p>FAFSA form will still be processed, however some schools require students to contribute a certain amount of money each year, so it might affect your aid package a bit that’s all.</p>
