Is it safe to give out your account's route number?

<p>I purchased an item from someone in Europe. She doesn’t have PayPal so she is asking me for my Bank’s account + route number so she can transfer the money to me.</p>

<p>So is it SAFE to give out that information?</p>

<p>Sorry if this is a dumb question, I am just not sure.</p>

<p>No, it’s not. If you bought the item from her, why is she transferring money TO you? Shouldn’t you be sending money to HER? </p>

<p>If she doesn’t have PayPal, send her a certified check or a money order. Do NOT give out your checking account routing number.</p>

<p>NEVER give out your routing number. Once somebody has that they can drain your account. My mom’s a banker and she sees it literally EVERYDAY.</p>
