Is it stupid to apply to these

I wanna apply to UC Berkeley, UC California, Stanford, and Princeton, but my sat score is pretty poor- 2090. I am also an international student, so I assume that is another downside. I am not looking for aid for these 4 unis, and I have excellent recommendations. I don’t have any “GPA” however, as that is not the system in my country. Is it hoping for too much to apply in these universities for engineering? :frowning: How much value is placed on SATs?

if you dont have some kind of hook, I think you can dismiss your chances

With that english your chance of getting in are really low !

I am not sure what you mean by “hook” :S I have a lot of ECAs, does that count? And I hear UCLA and UCB accepts students with similar sats scores, is that false? :S I had my fingers crossed for the UC ones…

i think you should have a better SAT score to have a chance at those colleges. if you want, you can try looking into other colleges in the US

It’s not stupid to apply as long as you can afford the application fee–if you can, it really doesn’t hurt at all, worst case scenario you get rejected.
Your SAT score is pretty good but you should try retaking it if you have time to improve your score.
You should also have some safety schools on your list
Good luck!! (:

Thank you  I was not counting on Stanford and Princeton anyways :stuck_out_tongue: I was hoping for a decent chance in UCLA and UCB because their average sats scores seemed to be similar to mine…I guess its not sigh…I hope some luck gets me in, UCLA is like my dream college…

I am applying to some safety schools  Michigan was my safety college, since I hear my score is pretty good for that college- I hope this was not false info as well :S My O/A level grades are all A’s, so I am using that for Toronto as well.

And I am retaking SATs this december, hoping to do better :P
