Is it that easy to get into in state schools?

I was wondering because I live in Maryland but there really aren’t too many state schools but is it hard getting into College Park if you live in state?

Depends on your stats.

Their 25-75% SAT ranges are 570-680 CR, 600-700 M, and 630-700 W, with an average GPA of 3.90 and 56% in the top 10% of their HS class. About a quarter of the students are OOS, and let’s assume that they average at around the 75th %ile of the ranges. That would mean that the in-state students would average around the 40th %ile, perhaps 610 CR, 640 M, and 660 W.

Apply to College Park by November 1st and you’ll be fine.

I applied in December, and didn’t pay the application fee until a few months later. And then they had the gall to not tell me that I was rejected until THE LAST WEEK OF APRIL, when I had to commit to a school by May 1st. And I know I would’ve gotten in had I applied before November 1st, as I was quite overqualified for that school.
