<p>Is it that hard to be admitted at Rice University?</p>
<p>Depends. I mean for one, the in state admit rate is under 20 percent. But out of state is probably twice that. But then again, the SAT ranges make it fall right in the middle of the Ivies. I mean Rice has a largely self-selecting pool, kind of like UChicago. The applicant pool is very strong, leading to a misleadingly high acceptance rate.</p>
