Is it too late for me?

I just started my high school junior year. I’m very interested in NYU’s Stern Business School for Economics. However, I’ve been pretty much coasting for the past two years, and I only just now got actually legitimately worried and ambitious on my college search. With absolutely 0 studying and tons of procrastination over two years, I’ve amassed an average of about 89-92 (not sure what that is on a 4.0 scale.) These classes are also all at the standard level, not honors or AP. I’m going to try to put in extreme effort this year and next, and most likely I’ll take several AP’s next year, but I’m not sure what. However, I’m taking none this year due to my low foresight. I test very well (220 on PSAT with no practice or studying at all), I’m a good essay writer, and I could get great recs. My EC’s are pretty weak, I’ve done technical theatre for 11 productions at my high school, and I’ll be chief of Set Building for 3 shows and chief of Set Changes for 3-6 shows. I’m also in the International Thespian Society. I’m also going to be the President of the Film Production club, and I’m trying to get an Audio Production portion added to it. I’m planning on running for treasurer for next year at the end of this school year, which should be relatively easy to get. I’m also planning on doing several hundred hours of community service next summer, hopefully with a leadership position. Taking all these factors into consideration, if everything worked out exactly how I wanted to over the next two years, do you guys think I would have a shot at Stern despite the first two years I goofed off for? If not, where do you think I may get in, specifically considering colleges with a comparable economics program.

Stern school will be a very high reach for you. You should work with your guidance counselor to come up with a list of schools that are appropriate for you.

Get SATs to 2300+ or 1500+ and try to get ~92+ and if you write an essay about Sterns new program (BS in Film and Business) you might have a good chance given your interest in Film
