We got MCAT score back this week (35 from 31 taken in March) and were relieved. Double major, GPA: 3.66, sGPA: 3.56, with the usual EC. The schools we applied to (20 or so, AMCAS verified at the end of June) are instate and mostly schools in the lower range. Should we add a few more or is it already too late?

I think that it’s bordering on too late, but it can’t hurt to add. You’ve already got everything in, so it’s just a matter of clicking a few extra buttons (and paying to apply to more), right?

If you had waited to submit your AMCAS until these scores came back, then I’d be worried, but you did the right thing and submitted your application to your likely matches early. If you want to add a few schools, I can’t see that any harm would come from it.

No, its not too late to add more schools. As far as which ones that would depend on which ones he already has on his list. But at 20 he already has a few secondaries to fill out!

But he can add some more and if he gets interviews at one or more of those you can always withdraw from some other schools depending on the results. Early decisions come out in October so when that happened for son he did withdraw from some schools. But he had completed all his secondaries by then (24 apps).

Thanks.
Already did 15 secondaries before scores came back but we did not know if it’s worthwhile to add a few more reaches. BTW, does anyone know when are we expected to hear back about interviews (time ranges)?
