is it TOO LATE to apply for a PG year!?!?

Hello,

I’m really worried about my college acceptances and I was wondering if it was too late to apply to top prep schools for a postgraduate year so I can reapply to colleges next fall instead. (Andover, Exeter, etc. all had deadlines in January) If so, what are some good prep schools that are still available to apply to?

Basic Stats:
GPA: 3.71 UW, 4.2W (7 APs taken)
SAT: 720 610 750 (2080)

Some schools are on a rolling basis. I would strongly suggest Loomis Chaffee. It is very good academically and they have a good athletics program. It is also known as a very prestigious school.

I’m pretty sure you can apply as a late applicant, which would put you into an even more competitive pool than you usually would be with top-tier schools. I would recommend that you apply to some less competitive schools as well so that your chances of admission are greater.

PG spots do fill up. But wouldn’t hurt to ask. And if you’re projected to be the next Keith Elias, surely all the schools will have a spot for you. :-;

try worcester academy

Bridgton is all PGs.

Schools will always look at late applicants. The odds aren’t great, but you aren’t prohibited from applying. Go ahead and see what happens.

There will be a number of students who will be applying for PG spots to very competitive boarding schools after April 1 for the exact reason you are inquiring. Schools anticipate this.
