is it true that Northwestern University will reject me if i got 1 C my junior year?

I have all As and Bs in AP classes, but in Precalc Honors I got a C (79%) but my teacher refuses to round up.

Are my chances really gone?

Depends on numerous other factors. Will a C auto reject you? No.

thanks. But that’s a definite No for Ivy leagues like yale right? I feel like i have a lot of other positive credentials, med school camp, fluent in 3 languages, member of 5 clubs, volunteering all the time while working 21 hours a week, and established a charity over seas.

haha you know people are going to say that having a C wouldn’t rule you out for even Ivys, so why do you ask the quesiton?

well i wasn’t sure, but i guess you answered it. thanks!

oh nvm, ur new here(me too), i was just fed up with all the kids who are on this website fishing for compliments, so i accidently took it out on you, my bad :P

It of course depends on which classes you got As in and which Bs in; what your test scores are; whether you have leadership roles in those clubs…

Haha, no a C will most certainly not auto-reject you. My friend who applied to northwestern, (he now attends upenn), got into northwestern with a C in AP Calc BC his junior year…but he got a 4 on the test. In conclusion, I’m pretty sure it depends on the class and perhaps what you got on the ap test (if it was in ap class you got a C in…).

@ pqrjqp whatever,

THANK YOU FOR SAYING THAT! I’m sick of the kids rattling off nine “5” AP test scores, 3 charities they’ve established, 11 countries they’ve visited doing good deeds, multiple test scores none under the 99th percentile, a bazillion honors classes and summer schools they’ve taken/attended, and then whining about how they have no chance of getting in!

Okay. Rant over. my apologies.

One C is not an auto reject, just as straight A’s is not an auto admit.
Well, at least not at the Ivys.
