Is it true that your score begins to plateau after the second testing?

An admissions officer recently told me this, is it true. I have been taking sooo many practice tests and i fluctuate too much. Either i do really well or really bad. and it ends up averaging back to my original score a 1320/1600.

It’s not an equation; you just have to keep working hard and your scores will improve.

that’s not true. if you can identify what categories your mistakes fall in and then work on improving those specific things, your score will improve. On practice tests I started out getting around 1350/2000 but by the 4th practice test i was getting 1550/2350. My actual score was 2360 800 m 800 wr 760 cr.

wow, great job!

how did u improve that much, i have identified my mistakes, but i make so many darn careless errors!!!

That would generally be true as to group averages.

According to GROUP averages, the biggest gain in section scores is from the first test to the second, but there are group average score gains on each retake, up to FIVE total times.

The only good reason for YOU to do a retake is because YOU have some reason to think that you will better the next time. If you have doubt about that, you probably have better things to do with your time. But if you want to do a retake, do it FEARLESSLY, after preparing well beforehand.

What kind of practice tests are you using? If they are not genuine previous SAT tests, taking under actual testing time limits, they may be poor predictors of your score in actual testing.

^^exactly. it doesn’t matter to you what the average performance is. what matters to you is how well you do.

I have been using CB tests, so many, and my score fluctuates too much. It really doesn’t make any sense.

my range is from around a 1300 to a 1420 LOL
Last time I took the test I got a 1320
