I have looked at a lot of community colleges websites and all of them say that as long as you have your high school diploma you will get accepted. Is this true? I do not want to take the community college route but I have a terrible amount of C’s and 3 D’s and I am afraid I will not get accepted to any of the colleges I sent my transcripts too. I still got an 85 average though. Anyways, if nobody excepts me, can I still be accepted to community college?

Mostlikely… But… not in all programs. RN programs and things like that are often hard to get into at your average CC.

Also many classes are in demand and it’s not always easy to get the classes you want…

So you are saying I should apply early so I can get into the major I want? which is Criminal Justice

Many community colleges are open admission, so you don’t even need to graduate from high school. Often times you come in without declaring a major or program. If you are interested in criminal justice, it may have prerequisites or you may be able to declare a major when you start. Not all majors nor all community colleges are the same.

Okay. Thanks for the useful information. [Northampton Community College](http://www.northampton.edu/) This is the community college I’m thinking of attending if I dont get accepted to other colleges. It does say its open admission I believe.

Most community colleges will accept you right up until school starts, but as ncmentor said, sometimes classes are full. At our local CC, you can register for classes and not pay until August some time. You might want to check on that and register now–pay later if you attend.
