I’m just rly homesick right now and i need stuff to do to keep myself busy. I have talked to a few people and I kinda got involved in a social circle, but I’m still not close to them yet… So is it weird to go to programs like seminars and panels alone?

No. That’s partially the point of orientation activities, to meet people.

I went to many of my new school’s orientation activities alone as did many others. I didn’t think it was unusual.

I didn’t know anyone who was going to Davis, so I went to my orientation alone (my mom and sister don’t count because they had a separate family orientation, so I didn’t see them until the end of my orientation).

Of course not. I went to my orientation and several other welcome week activities alone.
I find that in college, there’s no stigma attached to being alone, like eating meals alone or just sitting in class alone. No one’s gonna judge you.

Very few people have friends already coming into college. That is theh point of thse events so you can make friends. Go to as many as you can.
