Is it weird to send only ACT? 34 ACT vs 1470 SAT

Hi all,
My test scores for the ACT and new SAT are in the title. Both scores are non-superscored and first time. The ACT score is better, but how much better? Should I only send the ACT, or will colleges suspect it as a fluke and think my SAT scores were too bad to send? I also took SAT Subject Tests (no scores yet) and AP tests which I will send so I feel it would be a bit suspicious to colleges to send only the ACT.

Chemistry Major
Breakdown
ACT (35E, 33M, 34R, 35S, 22W)
SAT (730 R&W, 740 M)

Thanks

Lots of kids take only one test or the other, so no, it will not be suspicious if you only send ACT. Especially with the changes to the SAT this year, a lot of kids (my D included) have opted not to be guinea pigs for College Board and are forgoing the SAT altogether.

AP and Subject tests are separate issues, even though they’re also given by CB.

@thermom Glad to hear that. I wouldn’t have taken the new SAT had my school not required it.

No problem. Send the higher one (unless the school requires all tests).

Don’t send the SAT… the ACT scores you have are better. It will not look weird - most kids only take one!

Send the ACT only, it won’t look suspicious, many kids do that

My kids only send ACTs. SATs never were as strong. Guess my kids are ACT-phylic. Miss those SAT word vocab cards.

I’ve asked a few colleges about this at meetings because I only chose to take the ACT, and every college said it’s fine to only send one. You should be fine

Just send one! Why does your school make you take the new SAT, that’s just weird! But then again, will colleges know that everyone had to take it? Maybe then they’ll ask you to submit your SAT score as well…

@DeeperBlue25 They wanted to use the SAT as the standardized test for the region. I doubt colleges would know I took it because of my school, though

No- not weird. Send only the ACT

Yeah, in that case, only send ACT.
