Is it wise to transfer?

I am currently a junior at Northern Arizona University from California. I applied to UCR, UCD, UCB and UCI and four CSUs for this fall (I got into CSU Long Beach and San Jose State). If I stay at NAU I will only need 25 credits and my senior seminar left to graduate (believe me that is the only thing keeping me here) I am very unhappy; I’ve made no friends and I spend most of my time in my apartment. I would like to go to UC Davis or San Jose (I’m from Sacramento) but will it be possible to finish in one year?

What should I do? Should I stay here and just suck it up and graduate or go back to California even if it may take me longer than a year to finish?

It depends on how they evaluate the transfer of your credits.
I would transfer, personally, but I don’t have any financial pressure to get out of school as fast as possible. Noone can really answer this question but yourself.

UCs don’t take senior transfers so, no, you can’t finish in a year at UC Davis. For that matter, by this fall you may already have too many units to be eligible for acceptance at a UC. Look at the rules about xfer eligibility.

If you think transferring will help you make friends, well, I’d suggest that you read a copy of The Game. Strauss was on tour with a major band as a journalist, and still didn’t have the social skills to get laid. Transferring in your situation (practically being done) is probably a waste of your time, when there are other life skills you should work on straight (like making friends as an independent undertaking).

That old saying is true: you can’t run away from your problems.

^^^ Completely agree. 1 year is nothing in the grand scheme of your life. There’s no guarantee that transferring will be better than what you have now. Graduate in May 2015, then move on to the next stage of your life.
