Is it worth it to change my major next semester?

I am currently majoring in health and nutrition and I am deciding to change my major to liberal arts for the spring semester. This is my 3rd semester at a community college. I want to change my major to liberal arts because most of the courses for nutrition are too difficult for me especially anatomy and physiology. I am currently taking anatomy and physiology which is a required course for nutrition and it is really difficult for me to handle memorization wise and I have to memorize the terms and there is no word bank on exams which stresses me out. The first and second semester, I took three nutrition classes which I passed and if I change my major, would these nutrition classes that be a waste of money and time? I also have to take chemistry that is required for nutriton which is super hard for me also. I can’t handle large amounts of workload from classes like this so I might change my major to liberal arts if I can’t pass anatomy and physiology. If I change to liberal arts major, the workload would be easier for me which is what I want. Would it be the best decision to change my major to liberal arts at this point or should I continue with this major even though I find most of these classes difficult for me and I passed the nutrition courses that I needed for health and nutrition major?

What are you going to do with a liberal arts degree??

Are you still really interested in nutrition? If so, look at all of the classes that are required for your major. With the exception of A&P and Chem, are any others really daunting? If not, I say you stick it out and do your best. Just because you can’t master a few classes doesn’t mean you should withdraw from a program you like. There were a few math classes and one or two physics classes that I hated, but I stuck with it because I was still really passionate about my major.

Dig deep and figure it out. Don’t bail on your major over one or two classes. Every program will have something challenging. If you skirt difficulties your whole life you’ll miss out on a lot of blessings/perks.

Think about that you want to do with your life, not just what will make college easier. If you want to be in the nutrition field the struggle for the next few years will be worth it. Don’t ever think that you just aren’t good enough, your grades are ALWAYS a reflection of how much work you put into it. If you don’t put in the effort now, your subsequent science courses will be impossible. Do whatever it takes, seek tutoring, go to office hours for clarification, and ONLY change majors if you honestly are more passionate about another field of study. I’m a nutrition major myself and while I do have a nursing background I struggle so much with chemistry and math, but I can’t just give up. Nutrition and dietetics is my passion and I’m not going to let a few stupid courses stop me from being successful.
