Is it worth it to study Spring 2008 instead of working to apply to Berkeley?

I’ll be done with a great deal of pre-requisites (to transfer) Fall 2007 to get into a few Business Schools, but I won’t apply for Spring 2008 because I want to apply to as many schools as I can, so I’ll apply for Fall 2008.

I will have a gap (Spring 2008 and Summer 2008) before starting to study again (in Fall 2008). So my question essentially is, should I study Spring 2008 instead of working?

If I study Spring 2008 I’ll be able to fulfill the Breadth Requirements to apply to Haas Berkeley which is one of my top choices, but I don’t really know if the gamble is worth it. (I say it’s a gamble because if I don’t get accepted it will be almost useless: the time/effort/money I put into it, unless Studying looks better in your transcript than working for a full semester to most adcoms)

Another question I have is: Berkeley has the following requirements:

Literature/Writing Requirement (formerly Additional English)
English/Reading and Composition (R&C)

This is the link: <a href=“Admissions - Undergraduate Program - Berkeley Haas”>Admissions - Undergraduate Program - Berkeley Haas;

I’ve taken:
College Writing I
College Writing II

So I was wondering if any of those fulfill those requirements?

I also have a 4.0 GPA as of now and I will try my best to keep it.

Thanks, any input would be great.

it can or cant hurt you depending how you explain it.

for any gap in your education, they ask for an explanation.

if you say, “i was just to lazy,” it’ll hurt.

if you say, “i wanted to help my family out financially,” i can only imagine it’ll help.

however, since your application would be in process before all this, its pointless, they probably wont even care.

How would I explain though?
