Is it worth it?

A little backstory: I was the laziest kid ever as a sophomore. All I cared about was basketball and the Internet, and definitely had no intention of taking classes with a lot of homework. That being said, I did not take WHAP my sophomore year (only AP available) and I’m only taking 2/4 AP’s possible this year.

Long story short, my course rigor is definitely subpar. I’m starting to change my ways though. I’m taking two community college courses this spring and two more this summer.

My question is is the AP scholar award worth it? Do top tier colleges (UCB, UCLA, USC) look at it as a great award? If so, I would take the exams on the CC courses I’m taking (stats and micro) as well as self-study Computer Science, bringing me to enough for the AP Scholar with Distinction. I’m confident that I can get 3+ on them; the only problem is having to study for 5 AP exams on top of some SAT II tests in June.

Help please! Any advice regarding the difficulty of each exam/studyload would be amazing too.
