is it worth it?

The first semester of sophomore year I tutored a junior high student who needed a LOT of help. We met often and while it was an extremely rewarding experience, it was also very demanding and my grades suffered a little. Nothing too major but second semester when I didn’t take a student to tutor my GPA was significantly higher. I’m wondering if its worth jeopardizing my grades again junior year? I really enjoyed helping the kid though.

i dont get why it hurt you. just budget your time…give the kid a free period each day and let that be that. dont let it get in the way of your own work…

Junior year is the most important. If you really like tutoring him, then so be it.

It really depends on how much your GPA suffered. If an A went to a B, no worries, keep tutoring him since you really love it. However, if you went down like a whole grade point, I would advise you to stop and focus on your academics first.
