<p>If I am in a club, Black Student Union, and have no position, is it worth listing on apps?</p>
<p>if you do a lot in the club, have been a long time member, participate/have passion for, i think you should list it. you dont have to be in a ‘position’ to contribute</p>
<p>That’s the key, what do you do with the club. Build houses for the poor vs just attend meetings.</p>
<p>When Son was a freshman and a sophomore, there was a Philosophy Club where they’d basically go to Starbucks and discuss Big Issues. Then the girl who started the club moved away and the club disbanded. We had no intention of listing it as an EC. Then, at one of the schools, Son was talking to a prof in his major, and the guy talked about how important it was to be familiar with philosophy. Since there isn’t even a Philosophy elective to take at school, we decided to list the Philosophy Club as an EC, in case there were more people who thought like that prof.</p>
<p>Are you applying at schools that are familiar with your high school? If you have a strong Black Student Union, someone might wonder why you aren’t a member.</p>
