Is it worth trying to transfer Wellesley College?

<p>I’m a freshman at the college of William and Mary and I’m trying to transfer to Wellesley College. The reason why I’m trying to transfer is due to financial issue. I’m an international student, and I’m trying to apply to Wellesley in hope of receiving a financial aid since they have a need-blind system. (Of course I do have other reasons why I want to transfer to Wellesley.) I don’t know how I got into William and Mary with my poor SAT score, so I’m a bit worried that it will be a total waste of time filling up all the applications. Should I just apply just for the heck of it?</p>

<p>It would be more helpful to post your exact stats; it is hard to speculate on your chances based on just your statement that your SAT is poor. What is your GPA in college and high school, and what EC’s are you involved with now? I am also looking at transferring to Wellesley in the fall, and it is very selective (15% accepted). They do give transfers 100% of the financial aid dictated by their need (I e-mailed the financial aid office to ask this specific question). However, they may not have the same policy for international students, as many do not. There are plenty of need-blind schools out there, many of which aren’t as selective for transfers and still cover 100% of need. Beware that the admissions requirements sometimes change for transfers and internationals (SAT’s may be required), so check to make sure that international transfer admissions don’t require SAT’s either.</p>

<p>It seems not many school are need-blind for transfer…
as far as I know, there are williams, amherst, perhaps yale…</p>
