Is kutztown university a good school?

Is it a good school for business majors? Job prospects after graduating? I know that it’s AASCB accredited. Does it really matter what school you go to for business major?

It matters for certain specific areas like IB or Wall Street, but not in general.

The college you are is a factor in job placement (other factors include but are not limited to how well you do in school, how well you interview, what type of internships/experiences you had etc.). Going to an AACSB school is good. But not every company recruits at every college and the cutoff to get an interview with a top company can vary from college to college. You should talk to career placement to try to get a sense of how student in the business program do job-wise.

It’s a decent possible school among many if your sat scores are 450-550 in each section and if your goal is to stay local. It’s suffering a budget crisis, questionable leadership, and a looming strike so I wouldn’t call it ‘good’.

Not a very good school in my book, but it’s not terrible.

It’s okay. What about West Chester, Slippery Rock, Bloomsburg, Penn State Altoona, or Penn State Behrend?

Those all have better graduation & retention rates than Kutztown.

It’s a top party school. That’s about it…

Depends on what you want to do. It’s not bad but it’s fairly unremarkable. If it’s close to home and the best school you can get into or afford, then it’s a “good” school. Good is relative to your other options.

Relative to better known alternatives such as Penn State, Pitt, or even Temple, it’s not really great.

Well I wanna major in Business Administration with a concentration and it’s close to home yeah.

What are your stats?
With the bad shape PASSHE schools are in, it’s worth it to look into the many private colleges in PA, OH, NYS, MD, that are competitive with Kutztown and are often a better value.

Honestly…? No. I have met a fair amount of students from KU and I was severely disappointed in their lack of work ethic and desire to learn. I assure you this is not meant to needlessly disparage KU’s respective student body. In fact, I have a good friend who goes there for mathematics, and he told me on several occasions that the only reason he has not transferred out is because of the cheap tuition, though he had to take a year off due to not being able to pay tuition for the time being.

My advice is to try to aim for Lehigh University. Our program is very competitive with an excellent reputation, and, despite the high tuition, financial aid is very generous for demonstrated need-based cost coverage. If Lehigh doesn’t appeal to you, also consider Penn State, UPitt, and Temple.

What are your stats?

I want to warn you that Kutztown has a poor reputation in the corporate world, and you would be better served at WCU, Bloomsberg, Slippery Rock or Millersville for a PASSHE school. I would not be surprised if Kutztown gets axed with the PASSHE realignment next year.
