Is landing two songs in upcoming Hollywood movie?

<p>Hello,</p>

<p>My son has completed his common app and was having me review. He is interested in studying music theory/composition, education, and languages. Two days ago he received word that two of his band’s songs are going to be optioned for a movie opening in early 2014. I think he should add this to his common app. He is unsure.</p>

<p>Any advice? He is still unsure of school choices too and currently has Oberlin, Wesleyan, Vassar, Umass Amherst, on his list. He is looking for a few more that have strong music but not really classical so much as composition, songwriting, or a school that tends to offer strong internships/jobs in the music industry I guess.</p>

<p>I think he should add it to his CA! Anything that is unique and an honor such as having your songs selected for a movie - are all good things!</p>

<p>Optioned should mean his band received payment. Even if the songs never appear, the fact that he received payment is a very high achievement. Definitely list it and update the schools as he gets more information - if it’s released early in 2014, he should still be in the application process where more info could help his chances.</p>
