Is McGill better than UCLA or Cornell?

What do you think?? I want your oppinion.

don’t think so, but check out McGill threads…i read a post from a very unhappy student there re. huge, impersonal classes.

But everybody knows Wutangfinancial hates McGill. Its just a fact.
Ide say it is probably very close to UCLA, and a notch below Cornell prolly.

This is kind of a pointless question. It’s really apples and oranges. What are you looking for in a university? What program are you thinking about? What do you want to do once you get your degree?

/if beer is your criterion, McGill wins hands down…

I wanna study engineering. No like in general, from the employer’s point of view, which one is better? After getting engineering degree I might work or continue studying MBA.

McGill isn’t particularly known for its engineering program.

According to the Gourman Report (1999), UofT, McGill, McMaster and UBC all rank ahead of Waterloo. Given McGill’s reputation for medicine and science, it would make sense that the related faculty of engineering is excellent, as well.

Here’s another ranking source

http://www.physics.com.sg/uniranking.htm

I’m the unhappy student. I love most of my time at McGill, cuz I have good firends here, BTW. I just get mad when it comes to registration time. I still maintain that McGill is seriously underfunded.

Anyhow, I have a feeling, from what I’ve read, that UCLA is actually quite similar in terms of long lines and red tape. Also, like McGill, UCLA has a rep for it’s grad. programs, and undergrad does not receive as much attention.

UCLA has a few departments which are def. better than McGill (economics, for example). Other than that, grad. placement is probably quite similar.

Cornell offers a far better undergrad experience than McGill, and has richer, more connected students.

In 2005, THES also had an international ranking of engineering schools (the only year it had such a ranking) and McGill placed 2nd in Canada, and 45th in the world. I’m really confused as to how some people say that engineering isn’t McGill’s forte, it’s certainly one of the top engineering schools in Canada.
