Is MCS a major??

I was looking at students profiles on Stanford MCS program website, and I saw someone who had</p>

<p>With a BA in Economics and Master’s in Fin Math, </p>

<p>does this mean the person majored in both MCS and Economics
or has major only in Economics within the MCS program?
I’m confused~~~</p>

<p>MCS is a undergrad major… You can look it up in the Stanford bulletin online.
It is really a stepping stone to post grad study of something like math or economics, so it’s possible that the person you saw majored in MCS and went on to do something like that. Or they could’ve possibly double majored.</p>
