I’m currently attending a community college and have just applied to transfer to msu with a 2.91 gpa i know that it is less than the average, but I kind of knew that i would not get accepted. The problem is the fact that I have just completed my third year of community college and I will not make excuses for my grades other than I was too care free until i realized that I needed to straighten up. I have 46 transferable credits, but i have also withdrawn from one class that i have retaken and gotten a b- and i failed two classes that i retook and passed. I don’t know whether or not it is a good idea to retake classes that i got C’s in or just find other classes that transfer and do well. Another one of my questions has to do with michigan state’s self reporting grade system where transfer students must self report their grades. Do i send them the grades of classes that do not transfer as well? So please help me out, thanks!
Hi there! I applied to transfer to MSU for the fall semester as well!
I’m unsure if you are in your 2nd year or so on, but the max amount of credits you can transfer is 60 credits; just saying.
However, I do know, you must send in your academic report as is: by that I mean if you repeated a few classes you should put them down in your academic report.
I’m assuming you’ve done a little research about MSU, and it seems as if you understand the price of being “carefree”. If you have any other outstanding factors (i.e first generation) or even your own personal statement can grab you a deal.
Unfortunately the fact that the GPA requirement to transfer is 3.0 plays a huge obstacle to you. I would wait another year to ensure that you’re ready for it and have taken all the requirements to be accepted. And of course, consistant grades are always key!
Good Luck!
