ques as stated in the topic

I think that Midd considers Canadian students as part of a group, consisting of US students, US green card holders/perm residents and Mexican students. And it is need-blind for this group. But just to make sure you should direct this question to the admissions office: admissions@middlebury.edu
And Midd is NOT need-blind for all other intl students.

it isn’t??? why did i think it was?? i’m applying ED 1 and i can’t pay much… will this pose as a problem when they make selections?

they used to be need-blind for int’l, although not totally. midd is pretty iffy on the issue.

beginning of last year, their website said something like “int’l students will be aided to the degree that resources permit” and i think they gave lots of aid to int’l students. one person int’l student i kno got in through ED and received more than 30K in aid… but now i don’t see anything related to int’l financial aid on their website. but i’m pretty sure they’ll aid u if u get in, and if u’re a good student, apply ED and u’ll have a clear advanatage. just make sure midd is the right school for u (if u can, do overnight visit… wait, u’re living outside of the U.S.? well then maybe not). just don’t apply just because of money.

yeah, im from bangladesh… would love to do an overnight visit but don’t see that happening… am set about applying ED though why is the midd forum so dead though… where IS everybody?

i think almost all LAC forums are dead b/c of smaller # of applicants. It’ll be active during ED/RD season…

i hear midd is pretty tight when it comes to fin aid. can anyone tell me how true this is?

not rele true. my brother (int’l) gets $38,000 in aid…

i’m down with kee10 on midd forum being dead. the swarthmore forum is pretty active. midd is a fab place and deserves much more discourse on this forum than it gets.

i’m not doing ED to midd anymore but still doing RD if ED doesn’t work out… midd is my second favourite college… i love the idea of vermont… the name itself sounds so cool! :D
