Is middle school prep for high school a good thing?

I’m currently a 7th grader (13) and I really love to learn. You could say I’m a huge overachiever but I look at it as a positive thing. I’ve been prepping for HS since about January now and plan to take an algebra II over the summer this year so I have it out of the way for HS. I also plan on attending a STEM magnet school when I finish middle school, and I am planning to take 4 APs my freshman year. Many of my friends say that I’m preparing way too early and need to relax yet I think the sooner you prepare the easier it will be in HS. What are you’re opinions on this subject? Is it too early or should more middle-schoolers be preparing themselves?

The OP (an 8th grader) phrased the question as: Do you think that it’s odd, or do you think that it’s best to plan ahead as far as you can?

also here’s some wisdom from fln1049 i’m going to pass on to you…

Connor, I’m in 7th grade too! And I’m going to do algebra II over the summer! The way my middle schools works is you do Algebra I in 7th grade and Algebra II in 8th grade and you get one high school credit. Doing it over the summer so I can do geometry next year. I thought I was the only 7th grader in here!

Thanks for the advice enfieldacademy I’ll definitely check that post out. And I’m also glad to see another 7th grader here too Iloveucla456.

Maybe I’ll get flamed but I think it’s stupid to think that far ahead.

Why do you think that?

I don’t think it’s necessary, but if you enjoy learning then I don’t see why it would be bad.
