Pretty weird that according to the wikipedia article, the dude who accepted the Fields Medal for Gregori Margulis in 1978 has a name that couldn’t even be posted on collegeconfidential. Imagine the protests if that guy was asked to speak at a Wellesley commencement ceremony.

I think everybody can agree that mdx49 is a bitter, bitter person.

As for the thread’s question, I think if you socred that high on your SAT math, you’re guaranteed admission into MIT! Plus, that classy SN shows that you’re a real, cool person underneath the genius facade.

Yeah, a 660 on math is automatic admission, right? This is good news!

I have a funny feeling about this. ;)

Gosh guys, why are we being so mean to this person? I think he’s realized that this post was a big mistake. Although, I do think that he should have done some research before posting his stats. But then again, his post sounds somewhat sincere and I sorta feel sorry for him. In case you’re reading this cubanplayaboy, I personally believe that MIT is a great school. I’ve done quite a bit of research and I’ve talked to a few current students at MIT. MIT’s engineering programs are one of the best in the nation, and one of the best in the world at that. and to mdx, I feel that we shouldn’t be biased and judge a school based on the awards that the alumni have received. Just because your school have lots of nobel prize winners doesn’t mean that it’s better than MIT. OK, so Harvard is a great math school (and so is MIT), but you gotta realize that every school is great in its own way and no school is necessarily better than another. One school may beat the other in one aspect, but the other school may beat this school in another aspect. It’s really hard to say that one is better than another just based on one factor, in this case, the number of nobel prize winners and fields medal winners. So really, get a life and stop trying to prove that Harvard is better than MIT just based on one set of statistics.

Harvard is too easy. MIT challenges its students. Therefore MIT is better than Harvard.
From experience, I have taken an “intensive” summer course at Harvard that covers two semesters of physics. I tried taking the physics advanced standing exams at MIT so that I could pass out of those classes, but I couldn’t pass any of them. geezz… if a school like Harvard is so good, why does it cheat its students?

yeah, i agree with Kbui330. MIT folks, please don’t push too hard on Harvard lovers.

for cubanplayboi, i would suggest you to re-take the SAT, as your current scores are not that impressive. if you want to get into MIT, focus more on Math section. MIT doesn’t really that much care about writing. or if you are thinking more about Harvard, also get a decent score in writing. Schools like Harvard won’t let you in with very low writing score. and rather than taking AP classes, just take the AP test. Scoring 4 or 5 on APs would give you a better chance in admission. and stop comparing MIT and Harvard math programs, and just focus on getting better SAT scores. best of luck.

Which one should i pick? Do I have th ability to go to these school? Let me tell you what I got for my sat. (math- 1000, writing- 1000, critical thinking- 1000) Which one should I go too? Give me some advice please!

As far as I know, anyone who gets a 3000 on the SAT I is given the opportunity to attend both Harvard and MIT concurrently.

He even made up a new section: critical thinking. This character is good.

Dude, if I could critically thinker as that good…

I’m not satisfied with my sat score so i’m going to retake it. Should I?

no MIT is an awful school why are you even asking

I meant critical reading.

i was answering the thread title question

sarcastically

is anyone here here?

yo. whuttup.

and darling… just because you took the SATs 5 times doesn’t mean you get to add your scores together.

Pebbles I didn’t

this is a joke right? 1670 wanting in MIT? sorry dude, but a 2400 has a 20 percent chance of getting in. and, unless ur siemanns national winner with that SAT score (actually even with, you wont get in, cuz admission officers will be like how did a 1670 win siemanns) but like unless ur parents donated like 100000 million dollars, sorry bro, ur outta luck. on the other hand, I would suggest you look at some state schools (unless u live in cali, in which case u are again out of luck cuz cali state schools are pretty high caliber).

^ This is four years old. Are you incapable of reading timestamps?
