I would like to use an abacus on the ACT next year for the PSAE. I have already gotten a 33 on the ACT as a sophomore with a 36 in math and plan on increasing it next year. However, I need the writing portion for all the schools I am applying to and the PSAE does not include the writing portion, so it is quite usless. So am I allowed to use an abacus as my calculator? Since the PSAE is useless, I might as well get some use out of it and challenge myself a bit.

Look on this website. [ACT FAQ : Can I use a calculator?](http://actstudent.org/faq/answers/calculator.html)

I did, but mine seems a bit iffy.

What kind do you have and, I will see what I can find anything?

It is pretty similar to this one: http://www.ikea.com/us/en/images/products/mula-abacus__21167_PE106157_S4.jpg

Should be fine; I brought one and nothing happened.

Alright, thanks. I knew it was okay with college board because I used one on the PSAT and I got a 232 with an 80 in math, but didn’t know if ACT was okay with it.
