Im an incoming freshman I received my roommates information a few weeks ago. He emailed me and I couldn’t respond for a week because I was recovering from wisdom teeth extraction. I ended up emailing him on the 29th of July and he hasnt responded since. I thought maybe the email didnt go through so I decided to text him (with the number given) 2 days before. Im guessing the number he gave me was a landline phone and didnt take texts. I noticed he added me on snapchat (through my number) and I thought maybe he isnt ignoring me. 2 days after I texted him (so today) I tried to talk to him on snap chat. I saw that he opened it but still no response. I would call him but I dont want to disturb his family members if it is a landline/home phone. My friend told me to wait it out and just meet him on move in day, but I wanted to discuss what to bring to the room.
There probably isn’t all that much that you need to coordinate. Check online what’s provided (and what’s not allowed) in your room – what big-ticket items would that leave? At this point I’d just leave him alone and you’ll find out what he’s like in a week and a half.
Hard to know if he is ignoring you. Why not call him? People have phones for a reason. It won’t disturb his family.
@bodangles @NorthernMom61 Also is the first day of Arrival day the 18th or the 19th? At NSO they said the 19th-21st is move in day, in my booklet that I got from NSO it says 19th-21st and online it says 19th-21st as well, but I got an email the other day saying its 18-20? Did it change?
You can pay extra to move in early, if I recall correctly.
You can move in as early as Weds. the 17th. Most freshman my son spoke to are moving in on the 19th.
@japsmom Im most likely moving in on the 19th I was just confused.
