My scores are
1370 SAT (best of two tests) (June 2018)
(670 ERW, 700 Math)
31 ACT (took first time this month)
(33E, 27M, 30R, 33S)
How strongly do STEM subscores matter considering I want to go into computer science? Would one be better to submit than the other? Would it be worthwhile to retake the ACT? My math was lower than expected, science quite higher than expected, the rest was on par with my practice tests. I’ll have less time to study for that now with college apps and school compared to the summer however.
Math is the most important section score for STEM (incliuding computer science) applicants at many universities. You might consider submitting both tests. College will then choose the one it believes is more favorable to you in determining admission. As to a retake, it really depends on the colleges to which you intend to apply. Your scores are more than fine for many but on the lower side for very high ranked colleges
Would sending both tests work to disadvantage me? I am conflicted because the ACT has a much better composite bu the SAT has much better math. Would the results of one take away from my application or are the strengths of both considered?
