On the Oct. sat I got a 45 raw score and a 9 on my essay.
According to the sat writing score conversion chart in the blue book I would have gotten a score of 710.
However, my actual sat score is 690 for some reason.
The actual scoring scale changes between administrations - with a few constants, like a 10 being required to get an 800. This is normal and expected to occur.
Looking through my copy of the Blue Book, I see that it doesn’t even provide a conversion for scores greater than 6 (as you’d need a second grader to be able to do that, and it seems to not expect that).
Tests have different curves. I’ve never heard of CB screwing up the curve. So yes, your score is correct. @claser
Even people who take the SAT several times can’t be expected to get the identical SAT score. So don’t know why u expect getting a an exact “equivalent” SAT score after taking the ACT.
FWIW, a 690 and 710 are pretty similar. They’re only 20 pts apart.
Ok I understand thanks for clearing that up @marvin100
