Is My Score on the SAT Good Enough to be Competitive at Duke, Emory, and Rice?

Hi all! Rice, Emory, and Duke are my three dream schools and I would love to attend one of them! The question I have is whether or not my SAT scores are good enough to be considered competitive or acceptable at these schools.

I’ve only taken the SAT once in March. Here are my scores:
Overall: 2150
M: 780
CR: 660
W: 710

I know that test scores are not the most important factors in the college admissions process, but I know they are key nonetheless. I was wondering if these scores will be a disadvantage to me when applying because they are too low, and whether or not I should try to take the SAT again to try and get them up.
Thanks!

IMO, your CR is low so If I were you, I would take it. Your score is not low but that CR could hurt your chances.

Bump!

I’d retake it and shoot for 700+ in CR. If you didn’t study much for that testing, you can probably get 750+. Look at the SAT ranges for these schools and try to be higher than the 50% mark. Good luck!

Get the CR up so you are in the 700 range.
